Healing spoon beef base
½ large yellow onion chopped
1 Tablespoon minced garlic
2 Tablespoons dried basil
2 Tablespoons dried parsley
2 Tablespoons dried oregano
6 ounces tomato paste
1 ½ cups dry red wine (approximately ½ of a bottle)
2 quarts (boxes) beef broth
2 28 ounce cans whole peeled tomatoes
2 28 ounce cans crushed tomatoes
2 28 ounce cans tomato puree
Garlic and pepper to taste | Directions | Simmer onions in olive oil. Add in beef base and all spices. Toast 5 minutes. Add in red wine, simmer 5 minutes. Add in everything else. Simmer 3-4 hours, stirring once in a while. Mix with immersion blender, let cool. | Notes | |
