Mema's Cornbread Dressing (print)

Description:
Ingredients
2x Cornbread Mix (I usually use Krusteaz)
Diced Onion
3-4 stalks diced Celery
5-6 large cloves diced Garlic
2-3 diced green onions
3 eggs
1/2 cup parmesan cheese (I use green bottle)
4 stale pieces of white bread
32 oz box turkey broth (can substitute chicken broth)
Directions
Day 1
Double Recipe and Prepare corn bread per directions in well greased 9x13 pan, leave out to get hard
Leave white bread out to get stale or toast in oven to make bread crumbs

Day 2
With hands, break up corn bread and dried out white bread, mix together
Sautee onion and celery and garlic in butter until soft, mix in with bread mixture
Add beaten eggs, parmesan cheese and turkey broth, mix everything well
Bake 375 degrees for 40 minutes covered, bake remaining 20 minutes uncovered let brown up
Notes
Can add a few ladles of turkey drippings for flavor before baking
