-1 stick of butter (divided into 6 + 2 tbsp)
-1/4 c. flour
-2 c. half and half
-2 c. milk
- 1 lb velveeta, cubed
-2 c. shredded colby jack
-2 c. shredded cheddar ( divided)
-1 sleeve garlic ritz crackers, crushed
-onion powder, garlic salt, salt and pepper | | Directions | 1. Preheat oven to 350 and lightly grease a 9x13 pan.
2. Melt 6 tbsp butter in large pot over medium-high heat
3. add 1/4 c. flour and whisk constantly for 2 minutes
4. slowly add milk and half and half, stir for about 5 minutes, until almost simmering
5. add velveeta, colby jack and seasonings, stir until melted and smooth.
6. add noodles to cheese mixture, mix to combine
7. pour half into the pan, then sprinkle with 1 c. shredded cheddar
8. pour remaining half of mac and cheese and top with remaining cheddar.
9.melt the 2 tbsp. butter and combine with ritz crumbs, spread evenly over top of pan
10. bake for 20 minutes, then broil for 1-2 minutes to brown crumbs | | Notes | | |
