1 cup sugar
1 large egg
1/4 cup light molasses
2 cups flour
1 t. baking powder
1 t. baking soda
1 t. ground cinnamon
1/2 t. ground cloves
1/4 t. salt
pinch of ginger
sugar for rolling | Directions | -cream butter and sugar in large bowl until light and fluffy
-beat in egg, molasses, flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, salt and ginger one at a time
-dough will be soft, turn out of bowl, wrap in wax paper and chill for an hour
-form dough into walnut sized balls, roll in sugar, place on well greased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart
-bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes, until brown
-let sit few minutes before removing from cookie sheet, cool on wire rack | Notes | |
