Won Ton Soup (print)
Provided By: Katie
Description: I made this up but have to say... it's pretty darn good!!! (All ingredients can be found at local Chinese market)
Ingredients
Wontons:
1.5 lbs. ground pork
1 can straw mushrooms (whole and peeled) , (I used "Hocean" brand, purple can)
1 small white onion
3 spoons minced garlic
2 t. oyster sauce
2 T. soy sauce
2 beaten eggs
2 t. white pepper
1 package refrigerated won ton wrappers

Soup:
2 half size cans water chestnuts (sliced & boiled) (I used "Wei-Chuan" brand, yellow can)
1 can straw mushrooms (whole and peeled)
2 50oz. cans chicken broth (the giant ones)
10 t. chicken granules
1 carrot (very thin round slices)
1 lb. small peeled, deveined cooked shrimp
Directions
Soup:
Bring chicken broth, shrimp, carrots, chicken granules, water chestnuts and mushrooms (diced) to a boil and then simmer on low.

Wontons:
Saute pork, garlic, onions and mushrooms (diced) until meat is cooked. Drain of grease and put into large mixing bowl. Add oyster sauce, soy sauce, eggs, and pepper and mix with hands until combined. Spoon some mix into wonton wrapper, seal wrapper according to package and drop into boiling water. Wontons are done when they float to the top. Transfer cooked wontons to soup.
